Job summary

Sims Limited in Brisbane is seeking to appoint multiple Operators to join our Rocklea Recycling Yard. Reporting to the Yard Manager, you'll operate a range of mobile plant and equipment, helping to sort, process and move ferrous and non-ferrous metals safely and efficiently.

This hands-on role is outdoors and suited to someone who enjoys operating machinery and contributing to a fast-paced environment. Sims offers ongoing training, career progression and competitive pay with overtime.

Qualifications

• Current Forklift Licence with practical operating experience.
• Experience operating excavators or other heavy mobile plant.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Reliable, hardworking and self-motivated attitude.
• Good communication skills and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, excavators and other mobile plant safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers and skip bins.
• Sort, grade and process ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Receive, process and dispatch recyclable materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Follow workplace health, safety, environmental and operational requirements.
• Identify hazards and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Assist with general yard duties as required.
• Provide professional and friendly service to customers and operators.
