Job description

South East Queensland Hauliers is a full-service wharf logistics provider based in Hemmant, 5 minutes from the Port of Brisbane. Founded in the 1960's, SEQH has grown to become one of the largest import/export wharf carriers whilst still remaining a family owned and operated business.

SEQH operates from company-owned sites in Hemmant and Toowoomba, both currently undergoing major upgrades. Most excitingly, our brand-new purpose-built facility at the Port of Brisbane opens in November 2025. This is the perfect time to come on board!

We are seeking a Heavy Haulage Allocator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at keeping people connected. In this role, you’ll be the key link between clients, drivers, and our team, ensuring clear communication, smooth coordination, and accurate documentation every step of the way. Key Responsibilities:
  • Allocate and schedule trucks for all specialised transport movements, including long-distance, import/export, heavy haulage and out of gauge.
  • Uphold company protocols and compliance by ensuring vehicles, loads, and documentation meet requirements, and that drivers complete daily inspections before travel.
  • Coordinate closely with drivers, customers, and the warehouse team and maintain accurate records, PODs, and paperwork to support compliance and timely invoicing.
  • Monitor inbound/outbound deliveries and proactively resolve issues while keeping customers informed.
  • Investigate and identify inventory discrepancies in collaboration with the warehouse team.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy haulage and out of gauge movements.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Strong knowledge of NHVAS, Permit Schemes, and Heavy Haulage guidelines.
  • Experience in route planning including pilot and police escorts where necessary.
  • Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Team-oriented with leadership qualities and a customer-focused approach.
  • Proactive, accountable, and skilled at problem-solving.
  • Accurate and timely data entry skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
