Job summary

Daltech is seeking an Estimator/Planner – Mobile Plant based in Perth. The role focuses on heavy mining equipment estimating, including repairs, rebuilds and maintenance for OEM equipment.

You will scope, price, and support delivery, collaborating with workshop teams to keep client operations running efficiently. You will develop detailed cost estimates, create quotes, and liaise with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanic (Australian recognised).
• Experience with OEM equipment (CAT, Komatsu, Liebherr, Hitachi).
• Customer-focused background.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise, plan and manage multiple estimates to meet deadlines.
• Strong organisational and forecasting skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; exposure to ERP systems highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates and scopes of work for earthmoving equipment repairs and overhauls.
• Create quotes and purchase orders and maintain project records in Acumatica.
• Break down labour hours, parts, vendor services, and associated costs.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and scheduling.
• Monitor changes to scope and requirements to support accurate estimates and controlled job delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure clear communication of scope, timelines, and variations.
• Utilise OEM manuals and product support programs to identify value-adding opportunities for clients.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes.
