CANDII in Geraldton is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to service and repair heavy mobile plant in a busy workshop. You’ll work on a scrap steel processing plant with varied equipment and no FIFO, staying local to Geraldton.

The role offers $70/hr plus super, with a stable full-time schedule Monday to Friday. Candidates should have a trade qualification and earthmoving background, and be prepared for site visits for breakdowns when required.

The Equipment

You’ll maintain surface equipment used mainly in scrap steel processing, across makes from Caterpillar to Sennebogen and Hitachi:

• excavators
• integrated tool carriers (ITs)
• material handlers
• shears
• balers

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy mobile plant
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs in the workshop
• Attend breakdowns in the field when required
• Complete servicing records and follow site safety procedures

About You

You’re a qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic with an earthmoving background who likes variety and wants a stable, long-term local role in Geraldton.

Requirements

• Trade qualification, with at least 2 years’ post-trade experience
• Earthmoving or heavy mobile plant background
• Based in Geraldton, or willing to relocate there
• Driver’s licence (an HR or MC licence is desirable but not essential)
• Clear National Police Clearance
• Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing
