Job summary

Geraldton Hire in Geraldton is seeking a Yardperson / Controlled Waste operator for our Geraldton premises. This is a varied, hands-on role involving controlled-waste services, equipment deliveries and collections, and general yard duties.

You will be reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently while delivering excellent service to customers. In-town work – home every night with occasional regional travel.

Qualifications

• MR Truck Drivers Licence required.
• High Risk Licence - Forklift essential.
• Current Police Clearance (obtained within the past 12 months).
• Controlled Waste Drivers Licence or ability to obtain the required licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate controlled-waste/vacuum truck and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
• Undertake controlled-waste collection, transport and disposal activities in accordance with requirements.
• Service and maintain portable toilets and other sanitation equipment as required.
• Complete required controlled-waste documentation and records.
• Deliver and collect hire equipment throughout Geraldton and regional areas.
• Safely load, unload and restrain equipment for transport.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment pre-start inspections.
• Assist with general yard duties, cleaning and housekeeping.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Provide professional and friendly customer service.
• Follow safe work procedures and other company requirements.

Purpose of the Position

Geraldton Hire has an exciting opportunity for Yardperson / Controlled Waste operator at our Geraldton Hire premise.

This is a varied, hands-on role involving controlled-waste services, equipment deliveries and collections, and general yard duties. We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-focused and comfortable working independently while providing excellent service to our customers.

Key Resonsibilities

• Operate controlled-waste/vacuum truck and associated equipment safely and efficiently

• Service and maintain portable toilets and other sanitation equipment as required
• Complete required controlled-waste documentation and records

Licence Requirements

• Current Police Clearance (obtained within the past 12 months)
• Controlled Waste Drivers Licence or ability to obtain the required licence
• Previous truck driving, yard, hire industry or controlled waste experience will be highly regarded
