Job summary

Qube is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanicto join the Muchea depot team. You will perform mechanical inspections and servicing on transport fleet, predominantly Volvo trucks, and complete preventative and corrective maintenance as directed by workshop leadership.

The role requires strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, safety-conscious work in a regulated environment, and the ability to pass pre-employment medical and screening.

Qualifications

• Volvo truck experience is highly desirable.
• Current Trade Certificate.
• Strong mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work safely in a regulated environment and in a small team.
• Pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspections and servicing per workshop/maintenance plans.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance (corrective tasks) as directed by supervisor/lead hand.
• Attend to and report equipment breakdowns immediately.
• Complete mechanical works as recommended by OEM.
• Ensure all completed mechanical documentation is submitted to the maintenance planner.
• Identify and implement maintenance opportunities for improvement.
• Liaise with supervisor to plan major inspections and repairs.

What's the role?

We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanicto to join the well-established Qube team ourMuchea depot.

• Working on Transport Fleet Predominately Volvo Trucks
• Perform mechanical inspections and servicing (Preventative maintenance tasks) as directed by the workshop supervisor and maintenance planner.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance (corrective maintenance tasks) as directed by the workshop supervisor and leading hand
• Attend to, rectify and report any equipment breakdowns immediately
• Complete any mechanical works as recommended by Original Equipment Manufacturer
• Ensure all completed mechanical documentation are submitted to the maintenance planner for record keeping
• Assist in identifying and implementing maintenance opportunities for improvement
• Liaise with workshop supervisor and leading hands to ensure major plant inspections and major repairs are planned and scheduled

What are we offering?

• Monday – Friday, permanent full-time

• $57.00 p/h + super on 38 hours

To be successful in this role, it is essential that candidates have:

• They must have Volvo truck experience is a highly desirable.
• Current Trade Certificate.
• Strong mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills, coupled with an ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels are important.
• Ability to work safely, uphold safe practices and procedures in a regulated environment, in a small team environment.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
