Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team at the St Ives Gold Mine, 20km southeast of Kambalda. You will inspect, service and repair a modern fleet of heavy mobile mining equipment, on an 8/6 roster with 7/7 days and nights, residential or FIFO from Perth.

Residential staff receive daily bus transport to site and relocation assistance if needed, with a competitive package including site allowance and private health insurance allowance.

Qualifications

• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Certificate III Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and planned maintenance, inspections, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs on Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr heavy mobile equipment.
• Apply sound technical knowledge to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, minimising downtime and supporting production targets.
• Perform maintenance activities in accordance with OEM specifications, site procedures and statutory requirements.
• Complete maintenance documentation using SAP and other maintenance management systems.
• Order parts and materials required to complete maintenance activities.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with major component replacements and scheduled shutdown work.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and actively contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Assist with the training, mentoring and development of apprentices and trainees.
