Job summary

WesTrac’s Perth Airport workshop is seeking a driven Heavy Diesel Mechanic to specialise in machine rebuilds and major component overhauls.

Join our Flexi Parts & Mining Services team to deliver end-to-end rebuild solutions that extend asset life across Caterpillar and other OEM equipment. You will work in an environment focused on precision, quality, and safety.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised mechanical trade certificate required.
• Experience in workshop rebuilds, overhauls, or major repairs.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and service data.

Responsibilities

• Perform full machine rebuilds to OEM or better standards.
• Complete engine, powertrain, hydraulic, and component overhauls.
• Conduct strip, inspection, assessment, and rebuild activities.
• Deliver high-quality assembly and testing outcomes.
• Interpret technical manuals and schematics with accuracy.
• Contribute to a team culture built on safety and quality.

What You’ll Do

• Perform full machine rebuilds to OEM or better standards


• Complete engine, powertrain, hydraulic, and component overhauls


• Conduct strip, inspection, assessment, and rebuild activities


• Deliver high-quality assembly and testing outcomes


• Interpret technical manuals and schematics with accuracy


• Contribute to a team culture built on safety and quality

Roster:

• 5 Days On 2 Days Off – 10 hour shifts

Skills & Experience

• Australian-recognised mechanical trade certificate


• Demonstrated experience in workshop rebuilds, overhauls, or major repairs


• Strong focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail


• Ability to interpret technical documentation and service data
