Job summary

The Tasmanian Government Department of Health is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join a casual pool for cleaning across Southern Tasmanian Mental Health Services. The role supports high-quality healthcare environments by cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining facilities, while delivering excellent patient and staff service.

Successful candidates will work across multiple sites, in a fast-paced setting, and must follow infection prevention, safety policies, and professional conduct

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a hospital environment.
• Awareness of equipment used in the commercial cleaning industry.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain service area facilities.
• Perform infection control cleaning tasks.
• Provide high-quality customer service and communicate with patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
• Prioritise and organise work to meet changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow infection prevention, control and safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and a respectful approach in all interactions.
