Job summary

Whitehaven Coal is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor at the Vickery Open Cut mine near Gunnedah. You will support a positive safety culture by developing and coordinating health and safety strategies, coaching teams and assisting with strategy implementation.

Reporting to the Superintendent – Health, Safety & Training, you will collaborate with Operations, Contractors and Corporate Teams to ensure NSW WH&S compliance and effective incident investigations, risk assessments and emergency

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NSW WH&S Legislation and statutory requirements.
• Experience with Onsite & SharePoint or similar systems.
• Experience in the Mining industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of internal health and safety strategies, plans and policies.
• Facilitate and/or participate in incident investigations, risk assessments and management of change processes.
• Monitor the site's emergency preparedness and response equipment and capabilities.
• Support and participate in site WHS Committee meetings, pre-start and toolbox meetings.
• Monitor compliance and provide on-going support to Operations, Contractors and Corporate Teams.
