Job summary

Outback Stores Pty Ltd in Darwin seeks a Health Promotion Coordinator to deliver culturally appropriate health promotion activities, with a focus on tobacco reduction, healthy lifestyles and community wellbeing. You will work with Indigenous communities and stakeholders, coordinate plans, review data, report findings, and support programs that improve health outcomes while respecting culture.

Qualifications

• . At least two years’ experience in health promotion, community engagement or a related role.
• . Strong communication, community engagement and relationship management skills.
• . Proven experience building partnerships and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
• . Experience working with diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver health promotion and tobacco reduction initiatives in remote Indigenous communities.
• Conduct and use research and community insights to identify health priorities and support positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
• Support the development, implementation and evaluation of community health promotion plans.
• Build strong, respectful partnerships with communities and internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate health promotion projects within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Review and interpret data to identify trends and support informed decision-making.
• Prepare high-quality reports, resources and communications for a range of audiences.
• Support compliance with tobacco-related policies and contribute to the ongoing improvement of policies, procedures and health promotion practices.
• Respect cultural diversity, Indigenous knowledge and traditional health practices.
