Job summary

ACT Health in Canberra invites applications for Health Professional Level 3 - Speech Pathologist. You will provide evidence-based assessment and intervention for communication and swallowing disorders across The Canberra Hospital and Centenary Hospital for Women and Children.

You will manage a caseload with increasing autonomy, work with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to service development and quality initiatives in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current registration under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
• Eligibility to work in Australia and practising as a Speech Pathologist.

• Health Professional Level 3 Salary: $111,639 - $120,057 (Plus 12.5% Super)

About the Role:

Join a dynamic Speech Pathology team delivering high-quality care across The Canberra Hospital and the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children. Working with diverse adult and paediatric populations, you will provide evidence-based assessment and intervention for patients experiencing communication and swallowing disorders across inpatient and outpatient settings. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing expertise in a broad range of acute and specialist clinical areas.

In this role, you will manage an assigned caseload with increasing autonomy, applying sound clinical judgement to deliver person-centred care and achieve positive outcomes for patients and their families. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, community partners and support networks to ensure coordinated service delivery, while also contributing to service development, quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and the supervision of students and junior staff.

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Speech Pathologist with excellent communication and organisational skills and a genuine commitment to collaborative practice. You will thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, embrace opportunities for continuous learning and innovation, and be passionate about delivering high-quality care to patients with complex needs. Participation in a rotational weekend roster may be required in line with operational needs.
