The Health Information Services Clerk role supports the hospital’s commitment to accurate patient information management and high-quality healthcare through maintaining the integrity of medical records.

Role Overview
  • Responsible for training clerks in Health Information Services (HIS) in the digitisation of medical record content using the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system, including preparation, scanning, and quality assurance.
  • Responsible for training clerks in HIS in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to conduct tasks including chart corrections, release of information, deficiency tracking, and patient portal tasks.
  • Monitor processes and throughput and provide feedback and recommendations.
  • Organise and initiate training plans with the ECM Operations Manager to train all staff in prepping, scanning, QA and EMR tasks.
  • Develop training documentation and maintain ECM and EMR staff manuals.
  • Action document correction errors in ECM and EMR.
  • Make recommendations on system and process improvements.
  • Assist with prioritisation of scanning and answering queries relating to scanning/ECM.
