Job summary

Murrumbidgee Local Health District is seeking a Health Manager - Level 3 to lead emergency management across the district. You will provide expert support to the HSFAC to ensure safe, continuous care during emergencies and drive state-wide PPRR initiatives.

You will build partnerships with government and agencies, coordinate training and simulations, and govern prevention and preparedness strategies. The role includes on-call duties and travel within MLHD, emphasizing leadership and governance.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications or extensive experience in emergency management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead organisation-wide emergency management strategies.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles in public health contexts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a framework for Emergency Management that supports prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.
• Provide executive support to MLHD HSFAC and Chief Executive under NSW Health directives.
• Coordinate education programs and training for PPRR principles across MLHD.
• Maintain membership of Local Emergency Management Committees and represent MLHD on regional/state committees.
• Prepare briefings and ministerial correspondence; coordinate major regional events and on-call duties.
