Join the headspace Casey Cardinia team, a passionate group dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people across Narre Warren and Pakenham. We provide early intervention, brief treatment, and outreach, supporting young people and their families to access the right care at the right time.

Your role, your impact

As Team Leader – Intake & Brief Intervention, you’ll lead a team making a real difference for young people and families. You’ll manage the intake system, ensure timely access to services, and deliver evidence-based brief interventions. Your leadership will help shape a supportive, high-performing team and strengthen partnerships across the community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support timely access for young people referred to headspace Narre Warren and Pakenham
  • Manage the centralised intake system, including triage, assessment, and referral
  • Ensure evidence-based brief treatment is delivered, tailored to young people and families
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to support client pathways and collaborative care
  • Provide clinical and operational leadership to the Intake & Brief Intervention team
  • Monitor KPIs, conduct audits, and maintain accurate client data and reporting
  • Support workforce development through induction, supervision, mentoring, and training
  • Manage new funding opportunities as they arise within Intake and Brief Intervention Model
  • Participate in community engagement and awareness activities

Who we’re looking for

You’re a compassionate and skilled leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, passionate about supporting young people and empowering your team to deliver high-quality care.

  • Experience working with adolescents and young adults with varied and complex mental health needs
  • High-level interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Experience in assessing and treating young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties
  • Understanding of the Primary Health Care sector and Child & Youth Mental Health
  • Experience working with diverse backgrounds, including CALD, Indigenous, LGBTIQA+, and young people at risk
  • Minimum Diploma level qualification in Youth Work, Counselling, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Sciences, Social Work or a related discipline
  • Current state-based driver’s licence
