The HAN is a valued member of the patient care team. The HAN provides Safe, Timely, Effective and Person-centred (STEP) care to our patients together with our multidisciplinary teams. The HAN may work across various areas in one of Melbourne’s leading hospitals, including medical, surgical, mental health, rehabilitation, aged care, outpatient, and community programs.

Responsibilities

  • Part-time ongoing opportunities available.
  • Work in a rotating roster.
  • Provide direct care and assistance in partnership with patients, and where applicable, carers and families, supporting the nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work within scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and/or a Registered Nurse (RN) delegate within education, competencies, and clearly defined role parameters.
  • Work within the Nursing Workforce Unit with allocations across clinical areas including acute and sub-acute wards, and aged care settings.
About You
  • Commitment to STEP care, the Melbourne Way: putting people first, leading with kindness, and achieving excellence together.
  • Able to work a rotating roster Monday to Sunday including AM, PM and ND shifts.
  • Minimum commitment of 48 hours per fortnight.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting; hospital experience is desirable.
  • Skilled in inpatient partnership, maintaining safety and managing behaviours of concern.
