Job summary

Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts is seeking an EL1 Assistant Director to lead the Web Services Section, govern GovCMS, and deliver web publishing and content management services.

The role combines operational leadership, platform management, governance oversight and service delivery, focusing on secure, accessible and sustainable web capabilities for government and public-facing sites.

Qualifications

• Experience leading web services, content management or digital publishing in a complex environment.
• Proven leadership and people management capabilities.
• Experience governing and managing GovCMS, Drupal or similar enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Web Services Section, including workforce planning, staff leadership and resource allocation.
• Oversee delivery and improvement of web services, content management and digital publishing capabilities.
• Govern GovCMS platform and related web technologies to ensure security, accessibility and compliance.
• Lead web support, content management, digital publishing, developer services and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop and promote standards, policies and operational practices for web publishing and information management.
• Ensure accessibility, information governance and security requirements are met across platforms.
• Provide expert advice on GovCMS, platform capabilities and operational sustainability.
• Coordinate upgrades, migrations and improvements with stakeholders.
