Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a Head Teacher of Mathematics at Northern Beaches Secondary College Manly Campus to lead the rigorous, differentiated mathematics curriculum and acceleration programs for high-potential students. You will drive assessment strategies, data-informed teaching, and inclusive learning practices across the campus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading implementation and development of a rigorous, differentiated Mathematics curriculum aligned with the NSW Mathematics 7-12 Syllabus and current assessment requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to support acceleration programs and cater to learning needs of high potential and gifted students within a selective school context.
• Strong understanding of formative and summative assessment, data analysis, and using outcomes to inform teaching programs and improve student achievement.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in motivating, developing, and supporting Mathematics faculty staff to implement innovative teaching practices and curriculum initiatives.
• Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
• Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage performance of individuals and teams.
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

Responsibilities
