Job summary

SANFL is seeking an experienced football development leader to drive player and coach development across the South Australian Talent Pathway. You will design and deliver programs, mentor coaches, lead a multidisciplinary team and build strong relationships with AFL clubs, SANFL clubs and partners.

You will champion safeguarding, inclusion and safe, high-performance environments, and provide leadership, planning and reporting across the Talent Team, with coaching duties as directed.

Qualifications

• Relevant bachelor degree in coaching, education, people or a related discipline.
• Level 3 AFL Coaching Accreditation or equivalent in another sport.
• Experience in AFL or high-performance sport involving youth athletes.
• Proven experience leading staff and developing coaches.
• Strong knowledge of talent identification and player development planning.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using Hudl Sportscode vision editing software.

Responsibilities

• Design and drive player and coach development programs across the South Australian Talent Pathway.
• Strengthen high-performance environments and development planning across club and state talent programs.
• Lead academy coaches, physical performance and wellbeing functions for holistic athlete development.
• Build relationships with AFL clubs, SANFL clubs, players and coaches.
• Mentor and support SANFL Club U16/U18 coaches and coaching groups.
• Champion child safeguarding, inclusion and culturally safe practices.
• Provide leadership, people development and reporting across the Talent Team.
