Job summary

Springwood Road State School is seeking a Head of Special Education Services to lead inclusion supports and oversee intensive interventions for students requiring substantial adjustments. The position is a temporary full-time role ending 11 December 2026, with a focus on implementing a 2027 and beyond Strategic Inclusion Plan and building capacity across the school.

You will guide teachers and staff, connect with departmental services, provide professional development, and use change-management

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating intensive teaching for students requiring intervention.
• Ability to provide case management and access to specialist services.
• Guidance to teachers and staff on planning and decision-making.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and departmental policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver intensive targeted teaching for students needing intervention.
• Provide guidance to classroom staff and access to external services.
• Contribute specialist advice to planning and decision-making.
• Lead the development of a 2027 Strategic Inclusion Plan.
• Support inclusion goals and professional development.
• Foster positive connections with students, families and the community.
