Job summary

Thornlie Senior High School, part of the Department of Education in Western Australia, is seeking an innovative Head of Learning Area - Science for a 12-month fixed term, full-time appointment starting Term 1, 2027.

The role involves leading and supporting staff to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate differentiated science programs, building staff capacity through coaching, and ensuring alignment with the WA curriculum and ATAR/General Courses goals.

Qualifications

• Must hold teaching registration in WA.
• Demonstrated ability to lead staff and foster collaboration.
• Strong curriculum planning and assessment experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Science department to deliver differentiated teaching programs.
• Coach and mentor staff to build capacity and performance.
