Your Team

We've already built a pretty amazing team, but we're not looking for more of the same. Our day-to-day is made stronger when we surround ourselves with people who are different, like you.

Your Role

There is no typical working week at Flybuys. But here are some of the things you will be working on, day-to-day;

  • Set the enterprise risk and compliance strategy and multi-year roadmap, aligned with Flybuys' purpose, corporate strategy and risk appetite.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to the CFO, CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, bringing independent judgement, constructive challenge and clear recommendations on material risk and compliance matters.
  • Translate external developments, emerging risks and changes in Flybuys' operating environment into practical implications, priorities and decision points for the organisation.
  • Own and continuously improve Flybuys' enterprise risk and compliance frameworks, policies, standards and governance arrangements.
  • Lead the development, review and monitoring of the Risk Appetite Statement and supporting metrics, including timely escalation of material exposures, breaches and matters outside appetite.
  • Provide concise, decision-useful reporting and insights to the Board, Board Committees, shareholders and Executive Leadership Team, with clear accountability for actions and remediation.
  • Oversee enterprise and crew/squad risk profiles, control effectiveness and material risk treatment plans, ensuring risks are understood, owned and actively managed by the business.
  • Maintain an integrated, risk-based assurance approach across second-line monitoring, Internal Audit, External Audit and specialist assurance providers, avoiding duplication and focusing effort on Flybuys' most material exposures.
  • Monitor the quality and timeliness of remediation and accelerate overdue or ineffective actions where management attention or governance intervention is required.
  • Lead Flybuys’ crisis management framework and preparedness activities, including scenario planning, simulation exercises, escalation pathways and post-incident reviews. Provide risk and compliance oversight during material incidents or crises, ensuring timely escalation, clear accountabilities, appropriate governance visibility and disciplined remediation of lessons learned.
  • Lead the enterprise insurance strategy with Group Insurance and relevant advisers, balancing coverage, cost, retained risk and risk appetite.
  • Oversee renewal, claims and material coverage decisions, and provide the CFO with clear advice on financial exposure and risk-financing options.
  • Provide second-line oversight and challenge of technology, cyber, privacy, data and operational resilience risks, working closely with Information Security, Technology, Legal and business leaders.
  • Ensure specialist risk frameworks and assurance activities are integrated into the enterprise risk framework and provide a coherent view of exposure to management and the Board.
  • Oversee risk governance for material incidents and crises, including escalation, lessons learned and sustainable remediation, without displacing first-line accountability.
  • Lead, develop and retain a high-performing Risk and Compliance team with clear priorities, strong commercial judgement and disciplined execution.
  • Build risk and compliance capability across the organisation so that first-line leaders confidently own risks, controls, obligations and remediation.
  • Contribute as a senior leader within Finance and across Flybuys, supporting enterprise priorities and modelling accountability, collaboration and constructive challenge.
Your Experience
  • Significant senior leadership experience across enterprise risk, compliance, governance and assurance in a complex, regulated or data-rich organisation.
  • Proven ability to advise Boards, Board Committees and executive teams on material risk, compliance, control and governance matters, including clear recommendations and constructive challenge.
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise risk, compliance, assurance and control frameworks, with the ability to apply them pragmatically in a commercial environment.
  • Experience overseeing technology, cyber, privacy, data or operational resilience risk, and working effectively with specialist first-line teams.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to assess risk in the context of strategy, customer outcomes, affordability, value and execution trade-offs.
  • Proven people leadership capability, including setting functional priorities, building team performance and influencing outcomes beyond direct reporting lines.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including concise Board-level reporting, executive presentation and complex stakeholder negotiation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in risk, law, commerce, finance, governance or a related discipline.
  • Relevant postgraduate or professional qualifications are desirable.
