Job summary

Lower Murray Water is seeking a Head of Program Management to lead the Capital Works Program, delivering infrastructure projects across the region. You will oversee planning, scheduling and delivery, providing governance, risk management and continuous improvement.

The role requires engineering and project delivery experience, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with stakeholders, consultants and contractors while ensuring safety and sustainable outcomes for communities.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil preferred) or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in engineering, project management and infrastructure delivery.
• Proven leadership experience with high-performing teams.
• Experience managing capital works programs, contracts and portfolios.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build productive stakeholder relationships.

Lead the Delivery of Critical Infrastructure Programs

Join Lower Murray Water and play a key leadership role in delivering the infrastructure projects that support communities, businesses and the environment across north-west Victoria. We're looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Program Management to lead our Capital Works Program and help deliver long-term outcomes for our region.

About the Role

Working within our Infrastructure Services team, you'll lead the planning, scheduling and delivery of Lower Murray Water's Capital Works Program. You'll provide leadership across program management, contract management and project delivery while ensuring strong governance, effective risk management and continuous improvement across a portfolio of significant infrastructure projects.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you'll help ensure projects align with strategic objectives and deliver sustainable outcomes for customers, communities and the environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the delivery of Lower Murray Water's Capital Works Program.
• Managing a portfolio of infrastructure projects and programs across time, cost, quality and risk objectives.
• Overseeing program budgets, forecasting and performance reporting.
• Providing engineering leadership and technical guidance across project delivery activities.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders, consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery and organisational capability.
• Leading and developing Program Managers and project delivery teams.
• Supporting effective risk management, governance and compliance across the capital works portfolio.

About You

• You are a collaborative and influential leader who enjoys delivering complex infrastructure programs and developing high-performing teams. You'll bring a balance of technical expertise, commercial awareness and strong stakeholder management skills, along with a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for customers and communities.
• A recognised tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil preferred) or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in engineering, project management and infrastructure delivery.
• Strong leadership experience managing teams and developing capability.
• Experience managing capital works programs, contracts and project portfolios.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to build productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• A commitment to safety, sustainability and continuous improvement.
