Job description

At Rest, we help more than 2 million Australians to build a better financial future. With around $112 billion in funds under management, we focus on delivering strong long-term outcomes for our members - from their first job through to retirement*. Your best at Rest means focusing on what matters, being trusted to get on with it, and knowing your work genuinely makes a difference. That's how we operate every day, guided by our values: Be Daring, Keep It Simple, Take Action and Have Grit.

Join us as a Head of Office, where you'll be responsible for amplifying the efficiency and efficacy of Rest's Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). This is your opportunity to make a real contribution to the financial wellbeing of millions of Australians. The role is pivotal in translating the CCO's vision into executable plans, strengthens decision-making and governance, anticipates risks, and ensures disciplined delivery of critical initiatives. It connects the Commercial function with the broader organisation, with a focus on enterprise-wide value creation and embeds a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and enduring member value.

As a member of the Commercial division Leadership Team, the Head of CCO Office will manage senior stakeholder relationships and provide leadership on projects as directed by the CCO.

You’ll
  • Turn strategy into action: Translate the CCO's priorities into clear plans, high-impact initiatives and measurable enterprise outcomes.
  • Find and unlock value: Build a visible pipeline of opportunities and connect Commercial insights with the parts of Rest that can bring them to life.
  • Make work simpler and sharper: Remove unnecessary complexity, duplication and friction so people can focus their energy where it matters.
  • Influence the big decisions: Bring insight, judgement and clarity to complex issues, helping the CCO and senior leaders make confident, well-informed decisions.
  • Drive strategic priorities: Take ownership of critical initiatives, maintain momentum and navigate risks, dependencies and competing priorities.
  • Connect the organisation: Bring together leaders and teams across Rest, making dependencies visible and creating alignment around shared outcomes.
  • Lift performance: Establish the governance, reporting and operating rhythms that create accountability without slowing the business down.
  • Operate at the highest levels: Represent the CCO confidently with Executive, Board and key stakeholders, communicating complex ideas clearly and purposefully.
  • Shape a future-ready Commercial team: Help build a high-performance culture that combines commercial thinking, analytical rigour, human judgement and the effective use of AI.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance or Law; a postgraduate qualification such as an MBA is advantageous.
  • Senior experience in superannuation or financial services, with strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and member-first obligations.
  • Proven ability to design and operationalise value streams that deliver measurable enterprise-wide benefits.
  • Track record in operational efficiency, process improvement, financial management and data-informed decision-making.
  • Strong strategic and commercial judgement, including developing persuasive business cases and delivering outcomes to agreed timeframes.
  • Experience as a trusted advisor to a senior executive, exercising discretion, integrity and diplomacy.
  • Expertise in governance, Board and committee reporting, performance tracking and risk escalation.
Leadership Expectations
  • Align: Translates strategy into clear priorities, aligning people, resources and decisions to deliver member and business outcomes.
  • Grow: Builds adaptable, high-performing teams, role modelling learning agility and developing future-ready capability that combines AI with human judgement, empathy and trust.
  • Deliver: Achieves outcomes through empowered teams, adapting approach as needs evolve, and driving measurable impact and continuous improvement. Fosters shared and clear accountability across teams, Divisions and partners.
