Head of Mathematics - Full-Time, Permanent (2026 Start)

Lead the Mathematics Department in a leading independent girls’ school, fostering collaboration, excellence and high-quality student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide dynamic leadership for the Mathematics Department, fostering collaboration and excellence
• Lead curriculum development, assessment, and innovative teaching practice
• Mentor and support teachers to deliver high-quality outcomes for students
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to lift achievement
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through engagement in academic and co-curricular activities

Leadership allocation: 12 periods per fortnight

Teaching allocation: 34 periods per fortnight

Full-time, permanent position with a 5-year Head of Department appointment

Your profile

• Relevant teaching qualification with current NESA accreditation and valid Working With Children Check
• Strong curriculum and assessment knowledge, particularly in HSC practices
• Experience with HSC marking, K-12 teaching, or the PYP will be an advantage
• Proven experience teaching Mathematics to HSC level
• Collaborative educator with excellent communication skills
• Proactive approach to teaching and learning with a commitment to continuous professional growth
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor and guide colleagues
