Job summary

Better Fresh Leaf Pty Ltd in Victoria seeks a Head of Maintenance to lead onsite maintenance across plant, equipment and infrastructure, ensuring safety, quality and uptime in a fast‑paced environment.

You will develop preventative maintenance schedules, manage CAPEX and asset lifecycles, and coordinate external contractors while upholding Freshcare, HARPS, HACCP and SEDEX standards. A competitive salary package is on offer for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification required.
• Current driver’s licence.
• 3+ years in Maintenance Management on fresh produce floor.
• Strong production operations knowledge for fast-paced seasonal environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities in produce packing environments.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365; Production ERP and WMS experience.
• Positive, solutions-focused leader with the ability to build rapport quickly.
• People-focused, committed to supporting others and workplace culture.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance operations onsite and maintain plant, equipment and infrastructure to the highest engineering standards.
• Develop and own the preventative maintenance schedule across all onsite plant and infrastructure.
• Using data to identify root causes and design long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and oversee annual maintenance budgets, CAPEX planning and asset lifecycle strategies.
• Ensure systems support operations to deliver high-quality produce year-round meeting Freshcare, HARPS, HACCP and SEDEX.
• Systematically manage sourcing, vetting, onboarding, supervising and evaluating external workers and third party vendors.
• Engage with employees to support an open, respectful, professional culture.
