Job summary

Endeavour Group, via ALH Hotels, is seeking a Head of Local Area Marketing to lead venue-level marketing across 350+ pubs nationwide. You will shape strategic vision, build a scalable Local Area Marketing playbook, and partner with Operations to align brands and performance.

You will recruit and mentor a new Local Area Marketing team, champion data-driven decision making, manage budgets and external agencies, and drive local growth through tactical campaigns and always-on initiatives that boost

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a senior marketing role with hospitality exposure.
• Broad generalist skill set and strong performance marketing track record.
• Local Area Marketing experience and hospitality industry desirable.
• Degree in marketing or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to plan strategically, manage budgets, and leverage insights.

As the Head of Local Area Marketing for ALH Hotels, you will lead the strategic vision and execution of venue-level marketing across a national portfolio of 350+ pubs.

In this key leadership role, your purpose will be to drive local growth at scale - from tactical campaigns to always-on initiatives - by championing data-driven decisions, integrated planning, and scalable systems.

You will build and guide a new team of Local Area Marketing partners, empowering your team and venue leaders with the tools, insights, and playbooks needed to deliver on ALH's local pub-level marketing plan.

• Set the strategic vision for venue-level marketing across a network of 350+ venues, establishing a Local Area Marketing playbook and framework that empowers teams while driving acquisition, retention, and community connection.


• Act as the senior marketing partner to Operations leaders, fostering collaborative relationships that ensure marketing strategies are grounded in operational reality and aligned with national brand standards.


• Set the roadmap for marketing tools, systems, and templates to drive efficient execution at scale, continuously improving infrastructure so the team operates with clarity and speed.


• Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing team of Local Area Marketing partners—a brand-new unit for the business—while establishing talent pipelines and clear succession plans.


• Lead strategic campaign planning, oversee performance measurement, manage budgets effectively, and partner with external agencies to deliver high-impact local marketing initiatives that drive footfall and revenue growth.

What do we need from you

• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in a senior marketing role.


• A broad generalist skill set and a strong track record of performance marketing strategies.


• Prior experience in Local Area Marketing and the hospitality industry is highly desirable.


• You hold a tertiary qualification, preferably in marketing or equivalent practical experience.


• Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans, connecting marketing models to budget requirements, and leveraging customer and channel insights to drive sustainable local growth.


• Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to collaborate across all levels in a complex matrix operating model.


• You bring creative flair and outside-the-box thinking, alongside solid experience managing agency partnerships to unlock value and challenge traditional ways of working.


• Strong capability in change and transformation management, horizontal leadership, customer focus, and a growth mindset that fosters creative ideas and empowers teams to excel.
