Job summary

Mackay State High School, part of the Queensland Department of Education, seeks a Head of Department - Learning and Pathways to drive curriculum leadership and pathway readiness. You will work with Deputy Principals, HODs, and support staff to improve achievement, engagement and transitions.

You will lead academic progress reviews, curriculum evaluation and the coordination of assessment, certification and transition processes, and line manage related staff to ensure timely actions and quality

Qualifications

• Experience leading curriculum and pathways in a secondary school.
• Ability to coordinate NAPLAN and QCAA processes.
• Experience line-managing staff and coordinating testing and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enactment of curriculum and whole-school framework with Deputy Principals and HODs.
• Oversee academic achievement monitoring and assessment arrangements including NAPLAN and QCAA timelines.
• Coordinate senior internal and external examination arrangements and VET program delivery and compliance.
