Job summary

Commonwealth Bank Group in Sydney is seeking a Senior Manager to lead investment reporting, analysis and governance. You will deliver insights that support capital allocation, oversee governance processes and provide high-quality reporting to executive leadership.

You will partner with Finance, Strategy and Business Units to prioritise the Group’s ~$2.4bn investment portfolio, support due diligence and drive improvements across reporting and analytics.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualifications required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and commercial skills with ability to translate complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
• Sound commercial judgement and proactive, questioning mindset to challenge assumptions and influence outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across Finance and Business teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ownership mindset with track record of driving outcomes independently.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, or Power BI advantageous.

• Identify and drive continuous improvement across reporting, governance and analytical processes.
• Coordinate competing priorities and dependencies to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The Group Financial Reporting & Analysis (FR&A) team provides financial support and strategic insight to the CEO, CFO, Executive Leadership Team and Board.

The team is responsible for:

• Investment Reporting & Analysis—oversight of the Group's investment portfolio and capital allocation
• Planning and forecasting—ownership of the Group’s Planning & Forecasting process, strategic and ad‑hoc analysis
• Performance reporting—performance analysis and monthly management reporting
• Decision support—strategic projects, commercial analysis and insight development

This opportunity sits within the Investment Reporting & Analysis team, with a focus on delivering the Group’s investment financial reporting, analysis and insights.

Your impact

Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the Group’s investment reporting, analysis and governance agenda, providing insights and partnering with stakeholders to support effective investment decision‑making.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver Group-wide investment spend reporting and analysis, providing clear insights into investment performance, outlook and key drivers.
• Manage key investment governance processes, working across the Group to align investment demand, funding priorities and delivery capacity.
• Partner with Finance, Strategy and Business Unit stakeholders to support the allocation and prioritisation of the Group’s ~$2.4bn investment portfolio.
• Prepare investment reporting and analysis for inclusion in the Group's half‑year and full‑year Profit Announcements.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide commercial insights, challenge assumptions and influence investment decisions to drive better business outcomes.
• Support external investment due diligence, including financial and commercial analysis, assessment of strategic alignment, returns, key assumptions and risks.
• Manage financial tracking and reporting of cost productivity initiatives and AI use cases ensuring benefits are appropriately quantified and monitored.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across investment reporting, governance and analytical processes.
• Drive multiple deliverables across competing priorities, proactively coordinating stakeholders and dependencies to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Demonstrate sound judgement and accountability while upholding the Group’s Code of Conduct and risk management expectations.
