The Organisation

This Canberra based, national commercially focussed member organisation operating in the retail sector has been operating for almost 25 years and has established itself as a leader in its industry.

As the organisation continues to grow, they are now looking for an experienced Head of Finance to take the finance function to another level through the implementation of contemporary systems and robust financial planning and analysis driving and supporting their and their members ongoing growth.

The Role

Reporting directly to and working closely with the CEO and through to the Board as well as leading a small team, you willthe opportunity to work on a broad range of accounting and financial management responsibilities including:

• Preparation of financial and management reports including analysis of performance
• Preparation and monitoring of the budget and forecasting
• Cash flow budgeting and management
• Liaising with the company’s taxation advisors ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements
• Improving the organisation’s financial and operational systems
• Driving corporate governance including oversight of the internal controls framework
• Oversight of the financial operations including AP, AR and payroll as well as HR

About You

To be successful in this exciting position you will ideally be CA/CPA qualified and have commercial experience in a similar role taking day to day responsibility for the broad remit of financial management and reporting, financial analysis and ongoing improvement of systems etc.

You will be very comfortable working at an operational/hands-on level, have excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills and be proactive, driven and be results oriented. You will be prepared to challenge the status quo with a view to ongoing improvement.

Experience in the implementation or improving the utilisation of an FMIS and other systems will be highly regarded.
