Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead Languages Faculty strategic direction and day‑to‑day operations.

  • Mentor and develop teaching staff across the faculty.
  • Collaborate with students, parents and school leadership to improve outcomes.
  • Teach Spanish when required and support language learning across the Senior School.

Job Description
About the position:

St Peter’s College is seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Faculty – Languages in our Senior School. This leadership position carries responsibility for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the Languages Faculty, including leadership of teaching staff, curriculum development, administration, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and passionate language educator who is committed to inspiring students to engage deeply with language learning and cultural understanding. They will be a collaborative leader with demonstrated experience in curriculum leadership, staff development, and the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning programs.

The ability to teach Spanish will be highly regarded.

This is a five-year tenure leadership appointment with an ongoing substantive teaching position, commencing at the beginning of the 2027 School year.

  • Have a willingness to support the School’s values and Anglican ethos.
  • Hold relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Demonstrated high level of competency in teaching practice.
  • Leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience in curriculum development and planning.
  • Have a South Australian Teachers Registration and Working with Children Check.
  • Provide evidence of completed training in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) – Fundamentals & Masterclass and First Aid.
