FCM Meetings & Events, a specialist division of Flight Centre Travel Group, seeks a Head of Events to lead the national events team across a diverse portfolio, driving performance, growth and development, and shaping strategic customer partnerships to deliver outstanding outcomes.

Based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, you will recruit, coach and mentor staff, manage workflow and profitability, and partner with Sales, Account Management and Finance to achieve targets while maintaining superb

FCM Meetings & Events, is a specialised division of Flight Centre Travel Group that handles global corporate events, group travel, and strategic meetings. As Head of Events, you'll lead the national events team, driving performance, growth, and team development across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic customer partnerships, growing client relationships, and delivering exceptional event outcomes. As a senior leader, you'll contribute to the direction of FCM Meetings & Events while fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and creative team culture.

This role can be based in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the overall performance, growth, and development of the national events team while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
• Manage workflow, resource allocation, and project staffing to ensure the right skills are aligned to client and business requirements
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop team members, supporting capability growth through structured training and development plans
• Drive business growth by partnering with Sales and Account Management teams to strengthen existing client relationships and support new business opportunities
• Oversee project profitability, pricing strategies, and commercial performance to deliver strong customer outcomes and business results
• Partner with Finance to achieve monthly and annual financial targets, while maintaining oversight of supplier payments, reconciliations, and work logs
• Provide leadership and support across event project teams, ensuring exceptional event delivery, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction

You’ll be perfect for the role if you have:

• A minimum of 8 years demonstrated experience in project management within the event management and production industry
• Proven track record in effective leadership and experience in training and mentoring team members
• Experience in leading an operational team
• Demonstrated effective customer service skills
• Knowledge of project management processes, standards, and procedures
• Knowledge of all major suppliers and relevant MICE products and destinations
• Experience in P&L management and driving productivity and profit
