Job summary

Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation seeks a Head of Engineering Design to establish and operationalise a sustainable engineering design capability across ANSTO. The role will shape the operating model, governance, systems and processes for enterprise-wide design services and lead transformational programs across the portfolio.

The role requires evidence of leading multidisciplinary teams, operating within matrix structures and delivering capability development for engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Eligibility for Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex engineering organisations, engineering services functions or engineering design practices.
• Proven track record establishing, transforming or growing multidisciplinary engineering teams and capabilities.
• Significant experience operating within matrix organisational structures.
• Demonstrated success leading organisational transformation programs.
• Experience establishing operating models, governance frameworks, processes and engineering systems.
• Strong capability in stakeholder engagement and organisational change leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the operating model, governance framework, systems and processes for the Engineering Design Practice.
• Oversee resource planning model and capability requirements for enterprise-wide design services.
• Operate in a matrix environment with engineering, project delivery and operations stakeholders.
• Ensure resources are deployed, governed and integrated across assets, projects and programs.
• Drive organisational transformation and operational readiness for the function.
