Job summary

The Department for Energy and Mining in Adelaide is seeking a Team Leader, Electrical Inspectors (ASO8) to lead a specialist team that protects public safety and maintains the integrity of South Australia\'s electrical safety framework. This role provides strategic leadership, regulatory direction and expert advice to government, industry and the community on complex electrical safety matters.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted Electrical Trade Qualifications.
• Trade and/or post-trade qualification in electrical or a related discipline.
• Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or willingnessto obtain.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Training or qualifications in investigations, electrical incident investigation, ICAM, Root Cause Analysis, conflict resolution or negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a comprehensive risk based auditing program for electrical installations and oversee regulatory responses to non compliance.
• Provide strategic oversight of complex investigations relating to electrical incidents, fatalities and unlawful electrical activities.
• Lead industry engagement, education and capability building initiatives that improve safety and compliance outcomes.
• Represent the Office of the Technical Regulator on state and national committees and contribute to the development of Australian Standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Provide high level strategic and technical advice to the Technical Regulator, Executive and government stakeholders.
• Lead, coach and develop a specialist team while fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Exercise powers delegated by the Technical Regulator and undertake Authorised Officer functions under the Electricity Act 1996.
• Utilise compliance intelligence and data to inform regulatory priorities, risk management and strategic decision making.
