Job summary

Laidley State High School in Queensland is seeking an experienced Sub-School Deputy Principal to lead student services, attendance and wellbeing, aligned with curriculum priorities. The role emphasizes Tier 1 and 2 behaviour support, data-informed interventions, student engagement, and building strong partnerships with families and community agencies to support wraparound services.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience promoting a positive, high-expectation culture that supports student engagement and achievement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Proven ability to lead teams using relational, data-informed and evidence-based practices.
• Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement tiered interventions that improve student engagement, wellbeing and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: work with SLT to align student services with curriculum and school priorities; implement Tier 1 and 2 behaviour and support frameworks.
• Student Engagement: oversee daily attendance and engagement processes, identify at-risk students, and implement proactive strategies.
• Parent and Community Partnerships: build partnerships with families and community organisations to coordinate wraparound support.
• Data, Systems and Reporting: use OneSchool data to identify trends, guide interventions and monitor progress.
• Events and Student Leadership: coordinate assemblies, guest speakers, programs and leadership activities.
