Job summary

Monash University is seeking a Manager – Cyber Security Operations Centre to lead a 24x7 CSOC supporting a large, complex, globally connected environment. You will drive operational excellence, standardise the CSOC operating model, uplift service delivery, and own KPI definition, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Based at Clayton campus, this continuing appointment offers a competitive HEW Level 09 salary with substantial employer superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a Security Operations Centre (SOC/CSOC) in a complex enterprise with distributed teams.
• Expertise in detection, response, investigations and CSIRT functions.
• Owns operational performance: KPIs, service metrics, reporting.
• Led major cyber incidents with coordination and executive support.
• Strong stakeholder management and senior-level communication.
• Ability to translate cyber issues into risk-based insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead 24x7 CSOC operations, ensuring cohesive and risk-aligned service.
• Standardise and uplift CSOC operating model and service delivery.
• Coordinate major incidents, provide executive-level decision support.
• Report on performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Engage with stakeholders across technology, risk, governance and external partners.
