Job summary

Northern Suburbs Rugby Union Club in Sydney's north seeks an ambitious Head of Colts & Pathways Athletic Development Coach to lead the physical preparation of Colts and emerging pathway athletes.

You will deliver speed, strength and conditioning programs and help create a clear physical development pathway from Colts into Grade rugby. A degree in Exercise/Sports Science and ASCA accreditation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in athletic development within team or collision sports.
• Completed or currently pursuing Exercise/Sports Science degree.
• ASCA accreditation (or working towards) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-field warm-ups, speed development and conditioning sessions.
• Deliver and supervise strength and gym programs.
• Support rehabilitation and return-to-play programs with the physiotherapy team.
• Collect and analyse GPS and athlete-load data to inform training.
• Lead performance initiatives to develop emerging athletes.

Head of Colts & Pathways Athletic Development

Northern Suburbs Rugby Union Club – Sydney Northern Suburbs NSW

Northern Suburbs Rugby Football Club is seeking an ambitious Head of Colts & Pathways Athletic Development Coach to lead the physical preparation of our Colts (Under 20s) and emerging pathway athletes.

Working closely with the Colts Head Coach and Head of Performance, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of speed, strength and conditioning programs, helping create a clear physical development pathway from Colts into Grade rugby.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading on-field warm-ups, speed development and conditioning sessions.
• Delivering and supervising strength and gym programs.
• Supporting rehabilitation and return-to-play programs alongside the club physiotherapy team.
• Collecting and analysing GPS and athlete-load data to inform programming and training management.
• Leading performance initiatives that enhance the development of Norths' emerging athletes.

We are looking for someone with a strong interest or background in athletic development within team or collision sports, with excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills. Applicants should have completed or be undertaking a relevant Exercise/Sports Science degree and hold, or be working towards, ASCA accreditation.

The role provides an opportunity to gain genuine leadership experience within a premier rugby environment, supported by mentorship from senior performance staff, access to sports science technology and exposure to Shute Shield and professional sporting networks.
