Catholic Education Diocese of Cairns is seeking a Director of Boarding for St Augustine's College, Cairns, to lead a boarding program fostering achievement and wellbeing in a Catholic environment.

The role requires professional qualifications in Education and Religion, strong leadership, and a commitment to child safety and pastoral care. Applicants must be prepared for rigorous checks and alignment with the Diocese’s mission.

Qualifications

• Participation in and commitment to the sacramental life of the Church.
• Understanding and commitment to education in the Catholic tradition.
• Leadership experience in religious and education contexts.
• Demonstrated administrative ability and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of curriculum development with emphasis on Religious Education.
• Written and verbal communication skills of a high order.
• Commitment to Pastoral Care and child safety.
• Current driver’s licence and eligibility for teacher registration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the boarding program leadership for the college.
• Develop a contemporary and flexible boarding program to support student achievement and wellbeing.
• Implement boarding policies so students, parents and staff feel welcomed and valued.
• Ensure consistency of pedagogical framework and alignment with the college’s strategic plan.
