Job summary

Thales Australia is seeking a strategic Head of Accounting to lead our finance function during a period of transformation. Located in West Sydney, you’ll ensure the integrity of financial reporting and drive process improvements.

You’ll build high-performing onshore and offshore teams, spearhead ERP initiatives ( Oracle ), strengthen controls, and partner with senior leaders to influence business performance.

Qualifications

• Track record in financial and transactional accounting under IFRS and AU standards.
• Proven leadership across accounting operations and shared services.
• Experience managing offshore delivery partners.
• Strong stakeholder management at executive level.
• Experience driving process improvements and automation.
• ERP transformation experience, Oracle preferred.
• CA or CPA qualification.

You’ll be responsible for the integrity of financial operations while driving process improvement, leading high-performing teams, and shaping the future of finance at Thales Australia.

Located in West Sydney's Rydalmere, on Darug land, your role purpose will be -

• Lead the integrity of financial reporting, general ledger and balance sheet governance.
• Build high-performing onshore and offshore teams.
• Drive finance transformation, process optimisation and ERP implementation.
• Strengthen controls, reduce risk and improve operational efficiency.
• Partner with senior leaders to influence business performance and decision-making.

On day one in this role, we’ll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

• Track Record in experience in financial and transactional accounting underpinned by deep knowledge of IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards
• Proven leadership experience across accounting operations and shared services environments
• Experience managing offshore or BPO delivery partners
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at executive level
• A track record of driving process improvement, automation and operational excellence
• ERP transformation experience (Oracle highly regarded)
• CA or CPA qualification
