Job summary

Hillview Equine in Scone, NSW is seeking an experienced head groom to support the owner across our performance horse operation, breeding, foaling, spelling and agistment activities. This hands-on role offers a permanent full- or part-time schedule with live-in optional accommodation and training opportunities.

You will manage daily horse care, assist vets and farriers, and contribute to competition preparation, foaling monitoring and records.

Qualifications

• General horse care and management basics such as feeding, rugging, paddock movements and daily horse care.
• Performance horses and competitions: preparing for daily riding, tack, grooming, washing and post-exercise care.
• Breeding and foaling: daily broodmare and foal management, breeding procedures, foaling watch and post-foaling care.

Responsibilities

• General Horse Care & Management: Feeding, rugging, paddock movements and daily horse care.
• Performance Horses & Competitions: Preparing horses for the daily riding schedule, tacking/untacking, grooming, washing and post‑exercise care.
• Breeding & Foaling: Daily broodmare and foal management; assisting with reproductive vet work, scanning and foaling procedures.
