Expression of Interest - Briars Rugby Union Club - Head Coach, senior grade, women’s XV & X, Colts and pathways coaching roles for the 2026 Season

Briars Rugby Club is seeking Expressions of Interest for our Club Head Coach, as well as all other senior grade rugby coaching appointments for 2026.

About the club

Briars Rugby is located in Concord, in the inner west of Sydney, established in 1918 and has experienced great success over our past 100 years and we are one of the fastest growing clubs in Sydney; competing in NSWSRU Division 2 for four grades and colts, an elite women’s XV side, as well as a highly successful international sevens program for both men’s and women’s.

About the role

The Club Head Coach is responsible for setting the coaching vision, overseeing technical development, and ensuring consistency within the rugby program across all senior grades. This position plays a key role in establishing a cohesive rugby environment that focuses on development, clear processes, and effective communication.

What we are looking for

We seek an experienced rugby leader with strong team building and communication skills, capable of fostering a transparent, accountable, and successful culture across our senior programs.

As the Club Head Coach, the key responsibilities include:

  • Program design and technical alignment
  • Coaching and leadership
  • Player development and progression
  • Club development and culture
  • Governance and communication

We are also seeking experienced and/or budding coaches to work under the leadership of the Club Head Coach in fostering both an enjoyable and winning culture across our grades, women’s and colts.
