Job summary

Mint Catering is a rapidly expanding catering company and corporate cafe in Leederville, serving offices in Leederville, Perth CBD, West Perth, Subiaco and surrounds. The Head Chef leads kitchen operations and catering, designing seasonal menus, and starting early with baking freshly made scones, muffins, friands and cafe cabinet treats.

We are seeking a senior chef to plan and implement production schedules, oversee junior chefs, and maintain health & safety records while delivering catering

Qualifications

• Minimum prior experience as a senior chef in a large catering operation or head chef in a cafe or restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of nutritious, cost-effective menus.
• Familiarity with diverse cuisines and dietary requirements.
• Ability to lead a skilled team and ensure quality standards.
• Commitment to a Monday–Friday roster.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement catering menu production schedules including house made pies, sausage rolls, and frittatas
• Prepare a full cafe hot bain marie offering which changes daily, including meat and poultry dishes, vegetarian and vegan options, gluten free and halal meals and daily fish specials
• Plan daily nourishing salads, in-house sushi, and nourish bowls
• Oversee workload of junior chefs for preparation of fruit platters, dessert platters, sandwiches, turkish breads and focaccias, rolls, and wraps for both catering and dine-in cafe
• Order ingredients for cafe offerings
• Maintain thorough health and safety records to meet and exceed Environmental Health requirements
• Produce in house catering for CEO's, VIP lunches, meetings, morning teas, BBQs, and lunch platters

About you

Previous experience in a senior chef position of a large catering company or a Head Chef position of a Cafe or Restaurant

Thorough understanding of quality, nourishing, cost friendly food menus

Understanding of different cuisines and cultures

Knowledge of dietary requirements

Strong work ethic
