The Company

A Local pub in the Darling Downs, that is owned by the community is the go to place for a great bite to eat and a cold beer at the end of a hard weeks work. Sourcing local products and creating mouth watering meals for the locals is what this country pub is all about.

The Role

The Head Chef or Kitchen Manager will be in charge of all operations of this country kitchen, which is open 5 nights for dinner, Wednesday to Sunday and Lunch from Friday to Sunday. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the directors, inspire others, and manage the Kitchen along with the following:

  • In charge of menu design, menu changes & weekly specials
  • Oversee all facets of Kitchen operations, policies, procedures, and food safety
  • Build client relationships to maximise ordering with local suppliers
  • Be a leader, manage and teach those in your team by leading by example
  • Be the face of the kitchen who will work with FOH staff during services

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be required to have but not limited to the following attributes.

  • Relevant Qualifications in kitchen operations and food safety
  • Proven experience in managing & hands on kitchen work
  • Great time management, calm under pressure, acts with integrity, honesty, and empathy
  • Creative, passionate, inspiring, with a collaborative mind-set presenting high quality meals
  • Solid in administration - purchasing and stocktaking experience, managing budgets & COGS
