Overview

We are seeking an experienced and talented Sri Lankan Cuisines Head Chef to join our team at our newly opening 168 Green Cabin in Narre Warren, Victoria. This is a full-time role where you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our popular cafe and restaurant.

3-5 years of experience in Sri Lankan cuisine preparation and menu development is required.

What you'll be doing
  • Developing and executing creative and innovative menu items that showcase your culinary expertise
  • Managing and leading a team of Chefs and Baristas to deliver a consistently high level of food and beverage service
  • Ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently, maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborating with the management team to analyse food and labour costs, and identify opportunities to improve profitability
  • Fostering a positive and collaborative team culture, providing coaching and development to your team
  • Researching industry trends and incorporating them into the menu and operations
What we\'re looking for
  • Minimum 5 years\' experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful menus in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop your team
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Passion for creating delicious, high-quality dishes and an eye for food presentation
  • Must have current Australian work authorisation at the time of application
