Lismore Workers Group is hiring a Full time Head Chef role in Lismore, NSW.

Lismore Workers Group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head Chef who will work within and heading up the kitchen team to ensure a consistent high-quality product is delivered. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager you will be instrumental in the running of the kitchen and function operations.

In this hands-on role, you will enjoy the variety of working within a multi-outlet operation. In addition Lismore Workers caters for all functions including weddings, engagement and birthday parties, corporate conferences and dinners. We have the facilities to cater for up to 200 people, with 2 function rooms.

In this role you will:

  • Be inspired to develop your menu creation skills and enhance our current food offerings
  • Play a pivotal role within our catering department that is fast becoming one of the market leaders in its offering to customers
  • Ensure food standards, preparation, cooking and presentation are of the highest standard
  • Support cost and inventory control measures relevant to the kitchen operation
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and standard of hygiene
  • Provide motivation, leading and coaching a team of chefs
  • Be available to work a rotating 4 DAY roster including day, night and weekend work
  • Have fantastic customer service skills
  • Display good communication skills

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • 3+ years relevant experience in the industry
  • Knowledge around different cuisines and cooking techniques
  • Worked in fast paced, high end restaurant, pub, café, club or hotel
  • Good organization and the ability to train junior staff
  • An understanding of HACCP and hygiene practices
  • Good communication skills, attitude and be a team player
