Job summary

Infrastructure People in Queensland is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our team working on CAT heavy mobile plant. This full-time role operates on a 7 days on / 7 days off roster with FIFO flights from Brisbane paid for, and a vehicle provided.

You will maintain, service and repair CAT machinery, diagnose faults, and ensure high safety and reliability standards. Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Fitting or Mobile Plant Technology is essential, along with a current driver's

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified fitter with CAT experience.
• Hands-on experience servicing and repairing CAT heavy mobile plant.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work a 7:7 roster and adhere to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on CAT equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults and perform component changes.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for maintaining, servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy mobile plant equipment, with a strong focus on CAT machinery. You’ll play an important role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and maintaining high safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on CAT equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults
• Perform component changes, breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance
• Identify equipment issues and implement effective repair solutions
• Maintain accurate service records and follow site procedures
• Work safely and collaboratively with the maintenance team

Essential Requirements

• Trade Certificate in Heavy Diesel Fitting or Mobile Plant Technology
• Demonstrated hands-on experience working on CAT equipment
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Current driver's licence
• Availability to work a 7:7 roster
