Job summary

V/Line is seeking a new HCM Program Technology Lead to provide end‑to‑end technology leadership across the HCM implementation, ensuring architecture alignment, integration, data migration and governance. You will manage environment, testing strategy and post‑implementation readiness while aligning technology outcomes with business objectives.

Salary is commensurate with skills and experience. Hybrid working arrangements apply; the role is based in Victoria, Australia.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, system integration, data migration and governance frameworks.
  • Proven ability translating complex program requirements into practical technology solutions.
  • Delivery capability across design, build, test, environment management, deployment and transition to operations.

About The Role

As our new HCM Program Technology Lead, you’ll be providing end‑to‑end technology leadership across the entire HCM implementation. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all solutions are designed, delivered, integrated, and transitioned seamlessly into business‑as‑usual operations. This role creates alignment with Business Information Solutions (BIS) architecture, standards, policies, and governance requirements.


This position holds accountability for solution architecture oversight, system integration, data migration, environment management, testing strategy, deployment, and post‑implementation readiness.


The role also proactively identifies and manages technology risks and issues, ensures technology outcomes align with business objectives, and provides expert input into program governance and decision‑making forums.


About You

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following key selection criteria within their application, as this forms part of our merit-based recruitment process:



  • Must have 5+ years’ experience successfully providing technology leadership specifically on large-scale, enterprise-wide HCM implementation programs

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, system integration, data migration, and technology governance frameworks

  • Proven experience successfully translating complex program and business requirements into practical technology solutions

  • Demonstratable strong delivery capability across design, build, test, environment management, deployment, and transition to operational support

  • Established stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to successfully collaborate with a variety of stakeholders (internally/externally) in order to deliver outcomes


Salary for this position is commensurate to the successful candidate’s aligned skills and experience to the position.
