Job summary

Programmed is recruiting experienced HC/MC Truck Drivers to join the transport operation in Michinbury, NSW. You will transport trailers, containers and freight between Sydney metropolitan locations, Sydney Parks and Bathurst, using modern Volvo automatic prime movers.

Roles include 4 x day shifts at approximately 5:00am–6:00am start times, and 2 x night shifts with start times around 5:00pm–6:00pm. Shifts can be up to 12 hours with depot-to-depot work and no interstate runs.

Qualifications

• Current HC or MC licence is required.
• 3+ years' HC driving experience preferred.
• Experience operating heavy vehicles in a transport environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transporting and delivering trailers, containers and freight.
• Completing daily runs and deliveries.
• Loading, unloading and preparing vehicles.
• Hitching and unhitching trailers.
• Safely manoeuvring and reversing heavy vehicles.
• Reversing trailers onto loading docks.
• Securing freight using straps, gates, binders and tautliners.
• Completing pre-start and safety inspections.
• Reporting vehicle defects and safety issues.
• Completing run sheets, PODs and freight documentation.

Our client is seeking experienced HC/MC Truck Drivers to join their transport operation in Michinbury.

You will be responsible for transporting trailers, containers and freight between Sydney metropolitan locations, Sydney Parks and regional locations including Bathurst.

You will operate modern Volvo automatic prime movers and play an important role in ensuring freight is transported safely and efficiently while maintaining high safety and compliance standards. There are no interstate runs.

Positions Available

4 x Day Shift HC Truck Drivers - $34.79 per hour + daily overtime

• Monday to Friday

• Start times approximately 5:00am–6:00am

• Shifts can be up to 12 hours

• Approximately 4–5 runs per day

• Sydney Metro, Sydney Parks and Bathurst

• Hourly remuneration + super

2 x Night Shift HC Truck Drivers

• Monday to Friday

• Start times approximately 5:00pm–6:00pm

• Generally 10–12 hour shifts

• Approximately 2–3 runs/drop-offs per shift

• Depot-to-depot work

• Container swaps and reloading freight

• Sydney Metro, Sydney Parks and Bathurst

• Cents-per-kilometre remuneration

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transporting and delivering trailers, containers and freight

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Current HC or MC licence

• 3+ years' HC driving experience

• Experience operating heavy vehicles in a transport environment

• Previous B-Double/PBS experience highly regarded

• Strong knowledge of load restraint and safe loading practices

• Experience reversing and manoeuvring heavy vehicles

• Understanding of fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility

• Strong safety awareness

• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Training & Support

Full training will be provided to ensure you understand the operation before working independently.

Training will include:

• Approximately 2 weeks of yard-based training

• 3–4 weeks of buddy/training support

• On-road training and familiarisation
