Job summary

The Perfect Recruit is seeking an experienced HC driver for a well-established cold storage and transport company in Derrimut. This is local refrigerated delivery work, a Monday to Friday role with a reputable client.

Typical day starts 6:30am with pre-loaded trucks, about 8 drops, and one load-out. You will operate automatic rigids or vans, monitor temps, and log deliveries using electronic POD. Training and PPE are provided, with weekend shifts optional for extra hours.

Qualifications

HC licence with at least 1 year of driving experience.
Refrigerated freight experience.
Comfortable driving automatic heavy rigids.
Pre-employment medical and VicRoads driver history report required.
Well presented, reliable and respectful.
Accept a strict no-smoking policy, on site and in the trucks.
Nice to have: LF forklift licence and electric pallet jack experience.
Monday to Friday day shift, finishing between 2:30pm and 5pm.
Uniform and PPE is supplied.
Weekend shifts available if you want extra hours.

Responsibilities

6:30am start with trucks mostly pre-loaded for immediate departure.
Complete around 8 drops a day of refrigerated freight with no dangerous goods.
One load-out a day: finish your run and return to base.
Drive automatic Volvo twin-steer rigids, Volvo prime movers or automatic Mercedes Sprinter vans.
Monitor reefer temperatures and use an electronic POD system.
Wash your truck and keep it in good condition.
