Job summary

Cahill Transport in Melbourne is seeking 2 experienced HC Drivers for local day shift roles in Laverton North. You will drive modern fleet vehicles to perform local pickups and deliveries within Melbourne, ensuring loads are secured for safety and compliance.

This casual position offers Monday to Friday days with weekly pay. Ideal candidates have an HC licence with at least two years of HC experience, strong load restraint skills, and a safety-focused approach.

Qualifications

• HC Licence with minimum 2 years driving experience.
• Local metro and general freight experience preferred.
• Strong load restraint skills with dogs and chains.

Responsibilities

• Complete local metro pick-ups and deliveries.
• Transport general freight and bulk loads using tautliners.
• Secure loads using straps, angles, dogs and chains.
• Reverse and dock at customer and depot locations.
• Follow NHVR fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility rules.

We are seeking 2 experienced HC Drivers to join our Laverton North team, transporting general freight and bulk loads across Melbourne. These are casual positions offering Monday to Friday day shift work.

What You’ll Be Doing

Completing local metro pick-ups and deliveries.

Transporting general freight and bulk loads using tautliners.

Securing loads using straps, angles, dogs and chains.

Reversing and docking at customer and depot locations.

Following NHVR, fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility requirements.

What You’ll Bring

Current HC Driver Licence with a minimum 2 years' HC driving experience.

Local metro and general freight experience highly regarded.

Strong load restraint skills, including dogs and chains.

Confidence reversing, docking and navigating tight-access areas.

Good understanding of fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility requirements.

Reliable, safety-focused approach to work.
